First Aid workshop and Good Samaritan Law awareness program

(22th November, 2017)

The Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation in association with Red Cross organized a First Aid workshop and Good Samaritan Law awareness program for its nominated road safety ambassadors at Murlidhar DAV School on November 22nd ,2017 . More than 100 students participated from six different schools from Ambala. Participants were awarded with participation certificates. Teenagers are the best rescuers because of their sense of fearlessness and willingness to help. We found it logical to train our road safety ambassadors ‘First Aid’ with the help of experts from Red Cross, Ambala.
Dr. Sonika and Ms. Sanjul introduced students the law passed by supreme courts of India “The good Samaritan Law”. The purpose of a Good Samaritan law is to provide legal protection from police, hospital and judiciary to bystanders who come to the aid and rescue of victims of road accidents. In the absence of emergency medical services, bystanders can play a game changing role in saving lives. They can call for help, provide first-aid to the injured and even rush them to the nearest hospital, if an ambulance does not arrive on time.
A quiz was organise on the basis of first aidn conducted. Students participated with lots of enthusiasm.
Honey Preet Ahluwalia, Vice President of Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation urged road safety ambassadors to become role models for society and promote road safety awareness among school students and public.
Dr. Suri, principal, Murlidhar DAV School showed a positive approach towards our mission and mentioned his support for the entire mission which Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation has taken up.
This program was a part of 3 months road safety awareness program of Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation partners with schools 2017-2018
