Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation Partners with Schools on Road Safety

Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation started a new programme Partner with Schools to save the lives of other children.The project Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation Partners with Schools on Road Safety Program was inaugurated today by She R .C Mishra ADGP Haryana. Seven schools from Ambala City joined hands with Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation for this mission. The students of the schools will work for road safety awareness for the whole year. Sole aim of this programme was to enlighten children about Road Safety and make them smart safe users of the road.

Red Cross Ambala demonstrated the first aid to be given to road accident victims.

Mrs. Chander Sharma NGO Program Coordinator explained why Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation chose schools to be part of this mission and that is to “ Catch them Young” . With the help of PPTz she explained why youth are more prone to accidents, its scientific reasons and urged the need to follow road safety rules.

She also gave a detailed note about the new Good Samaritan Law by Supreme court of India passed in 2016 that how one is protected from police, hospital and judiciary harassment if a bystander wants to help a road accident victim. She urged the need of becoming a good Samaritan on road as 50% road accident victims can be saved if they are given medical assistance in time.

There was an introduction of schools which . explained their one year program how they will take up the mission of road safety awareness through children and how they want to shape today’s child into a responsible road user as an adult.At the end of the year best school will be given Sunny Ahluwalia Road Safety award for active participation for this noble cause.

The Chief Guest Dr. R. C Mishra ( ADGP Haryana) stated the dreadful road accident data and urged the students to learn to obey traffic rules in order to be safe.

Participation Certificates were given away to all participating schools.

Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation thanked Dr. R.C Mishra ( ADGP ) , education department , Umeed Ki Kiran (NGO) , Police DAV School , Principals and teachers of all participant schools. Media, Police dept.Red Cross was congratulated on World Red Cross day. A special thanks was given to media for taking out time to support Sunny Ahluwalia Foundation programme.
